What is in the download
Unzip the file you downloaded from CodeCanyon on your computer. Inside there are four folders and one text file.

├── script/ the application. You upload this to your server.
├── documentation/ this guide. Open index.html in a browser.

├── perfex-module/ optional: the Perfex CRM connector, as a zip.

Everything inside script/ goes to your hosting account. It is a complete Laravel
application with everything it needs already included:

public/ | The only folder the web should see. Your domain points here. See Install. |
public/build/ | The CSS and JavaScript, already built and not minified, so you can read them. You do not need Node.js. The source they are built from is in resources/css and resources/js. |
lang/ | The language files. lang/en.json holds every piece of text on the site. See Translate GuestLens. |
vendor/ | All the PHP libraries. You do not need Composer. |
storage/ | Uploaded files, logs, and (for SQLite) the database. It must be writable. Never delete it. |
.env.example | The settings template. The installer turns it into .env for you. |
.htaccess | Sends visitors into public/ if you cannot change your document root. |
app/, resources/, routes/, config/ | The source code. You only open these if you want to change how GuestLens works. |
.htaccess and
.env.example start with a dot, and some computers hide them. If you upload a folder
by dragging it, check that both arrived. Uploading the zip and extracting it on the server avoids
this problem.
The documentation folder
This guide. It works offline: open documentation/index.html in any browser. It does
not need an internet connection or a web server, and you do not upload it to your hosting.
The perfex-module folder
Optional. guestlens_connector.zip is a module for Perfex CRM, which is sold separately.
You upload it in Perfex CRM, not to your GuestLens site. If you do not use Perfex CRM, ignore this
folder. See Perfex CRM connector.
The licenses folder
The license text of every open-source package GuestLens uses, and of the two fonts. See Credits and licenses.
