Perfex CRM connector

The Perfex CRM connector is a small module for Perfex CRM. It connects your CRM to your own GuestLens site through the API, so you can manage GuestLens hosts and events from your customers in Perfex, and give a plan when a Perfex invoice is paid. New in version 3.0.

What you need

• Perfex CRM 3.2 or later, which needs PHP 8.1 or later.
• The PHP cURL extension on the Perfex server.
• GuestLens 3.0 or later, with the API turned on and a full access key.
• Both sites on https, so the key is never sent in plain text.

The module is in your download, in the perfex-module folder, as guestlens_connector.zip. See What is in the download.

Install it

1. In GuestLens, turn on the API and make a key with full access. Copy it. See The API.
2. In Perfex CRM, open Setup, Modules, press Upload, and choose guestlens_connector.zip. Do not unzip it first.
3. Press Activate next to GuestLens Connector.
4. Open Setup, GuestLens. Paste your GuestLens address (for example https://photos.example.com) and the key, press Test connection, then Save.
5. Give your staff roles the GuestLens permissions: View hosts and events to see the tab, and Link customers, create hosts and events, and open galleries for the rest. Perfex administrators have both.

The GuestLens tab on a customer

Open any customer in Perfex. The GuestLens tab lets staff:

• Link the customer to an existing GuestLens host by email, or create a host for them. With no password typed, the host gets a random one, and uses Open gallery or Forgot password.
• See the host's events, with their upload counts, and open each event's guest page.
• Create an event. It uses one of the host's event credits.
• Download an event's QR code.
• Open gallery: open the host area in a new tab as that host, with a one-time sign-in link.
• Unlink. This changes nothing on GuestLens.

The tab follows Perfex's own customer rules: staff who cannot see a customer in Perfex cannot see its GuestLens tab either.

Give a plan when an invoice is paid

1. In Setup, GuestLens, tick Give a GuestLens plan when an invoice is paid.
2. Add a rule: an item description from your Perfex items, the GuestLens plan it gives, and how many events.
3. When an invoice is fully paid, each line whose description matches a rule gives that plan to the customer's linked host. The number of events is multiplied by the line's quantity.

Each invoice line gives its plan only once, even if Perfex reports the payment twice. Every result is written to the Perfex activity log. If GuestLens did not answer clearly, for example after a time-out, the log asks you to check the host's plans in GuestLens by hand.

Remove the module

In Setup, Modules, deactivate GuestLens Connector, then uninstall it. Its three tables and its settings are removed. Nothing changes on GuestLens. Delete the API key there too.

Try the connection with the demo

To try the module before you set up your own site, use the demo address https://guestlens-demo.jawad.work and the read-only demo key from The API. Test connection and the customer tab's lists work. Anything that changes something is refused, because the key is read only.
